THE SCOPE OF THIS PROJECT INCLUDES THE ADDITION OF A FAMILY / MUSIC ROOM AND ADJOINING SUNROOM / WALKWAY TO, AS WELL AS IMPROVEMENTS / LANDSCAPING OF,  A 1928 TUDOR STYLE HOME IN  THE NORTH OF MONTANA REGION OF SANTA MONICA

 

THE POTENTIAL FOR THE MUSIC ROOM TO GENERATE SOUND THAT WOULD CROSS THE PROPERTY LINE INTO NEIGHBORING AIRSPACES IS A FACTOR AND HAS BEEN ADDRESSED CAREFULLY BY A SERIES OF NOISE REDUCING RESPONSES INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE USE OF : DUAL THICKNESS/DOUBLE PANED/LAMINATED GLASS FOR ALL FENISTRATION, COTTON FIBER INSULATION, MASS-LOADED VINYL IN BETWEEN TWO LAYERS OF GYPSUM WITH ACOUSTICAL CAULKING, AND DOUBLE WEATHER STRIPPING FOR ANY AIR GAPS TO THE OUTSIDE AS WELL AS RETRACTABLE CURTAINS. THOUGH SOUND CONTROL IN ANY TYPE OF ROOM BESIDES AN INSULATED ROOM WITH NO WINDOWS IS A DIFFICULT PROSPECT,  SUCH MEASURES HAVE BEEN TAKEN TO LIMIT NOISE TO THE OUTSIDE.
